Aligning Communities to Solve Collective Problems

App seeks to empower political parties and improve internal democracies Having been challenged to change the world and "uberize" an industry as part of the YPO/Harvard 2017 Presidents' Program, attendee and entrepreneur Ricardo De La Blanca Brigati (YPO Miami) opted to disrupt political parties.

The Freedom app he developed targets such issues as corruption, waste, nepotism, the lack of transparency and poor communication. The networking platform combines the social media experience of a feed with private messaging and individual profiles.

De La Blanca has used effective communication strategies to improve democracies for a variety of entities, such as the IDU (International Democrat Union in Norway) as well as JHS Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation in Sweden) and UPLA (Union de Partidos Latinoamericanos in Chile). He recognized the potential and the need for change in the political realm. "I understood it was not just about the message but also about the lack of communication inside the party."

Creating transparency

Across political parties, there is an issue of connection. Leaders are not aligned with the evolving beliefs of members, and members in turn feel disenfranchised. De La Blanca saw that there was a way to make the actions of the parties and its members potentially more powerful. At the YPO/Harvard Presidents' Program, he presented his idea for the Freedom app.
